Introduction

Welcome to the Hispanic and Spanish language guide.  Here to help you navigate through the wealth of resources available to you as you complete your degree program, your class, or further your research.

New Language Databases

  • Mango Languages  Icon
    Learn a new language with this interactive database that provides step by step lesson plans for over 40 different languages from Arabic to Vietnamese to English as a second language. A text translator is also provided.
  • Rosetta Stone  Icon
    Rosetta Stone combines advanced interactive technology with native speaker voicing and a rich visual environment to mimic the complete immersion process, which is most effective for successful language learning. You will learn whole-language skills including listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Due to high demand, accounts showing inactivity will be deleted after 7 days.

Learning Foreign Languages

You may be interested in learning an additional language, or perhaps you want to refresh your acquired language skills.  We have plenty of language learning material available to you through Media and Reserves in the form of sound and video recordings, and CD-Roms

Materials for Check-Out:

  • Fluenz Foreign Language Learning Software - Available for check-out through Media and Reserves.  There will soon be 2 copies available for the Spanish learning software.  THe oher languages available are French, and Mandarin.
