Course Description:

  • Preparation of a technical presentation based on an independent study of an engineering problem (i.e.,internship or identified interest), including an abstract in conformance with SPE guidelines.
  • Oral presentation of the study findings in a formal technical conference format (Departmental Student Paper Contest), judged by petroleum industry professionals.

It’s best to work in Petroleum Abstracts and use the Find Text at TAMU linking and ‘Get it for me’ if needed.  Simply save the paper number for any needed SPE publication you find and simply paste that number into a search in OnePetro -and you’ll quickly have the PDF!
