ArcGIS for Desktop-Student Licenses

The student copy may only be installed on a student personal computer, not a Texas A&M-owned computer. If intended to be installed in a Texas A&M-owned computer, ArcGIS must be purchased through the Texas A&M Software Center.

As a TAMU student, you may obtain a copy of ArcGIS 10.3.

If you are interested in a previous version of the software, please complete the appropriate form and e-mail it to us:

ArcGIS (ArcInfo) 10
ArcGIS Advanced 10.1
ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2

Once you e-mail the form to us, we will send the authorization number and instructions for installation and how to obtain the software via internet. For versions 9.3 and 10, you will need to pick up a CD at the Map & GIS Library.

 

ArcGIS for Desktop-Faculty and Staff

You must purchase ArcGIS through the Texas A&M Software Center. The student copies are only to be installed in student personal computers, not a Texas A&M-owned computer. If intended to be installed in a Texas A&M-owned computer, ArcGIS must be purchased through the Texas A&M Software Center.

I have an ArcGIS Version, can I just add this update?

The computer needs to have any ArcGIS software removed before adding another version.

If I graduate, will ArcGIS still work?

Yes, the student license expires each October, so the software will work until the October following your graduation date.

Can I renew the license after 1 year?

Yes, the student licenses expire each October, but can they can be renewed as long as you are currently enrolled.

Can I install this version in my academic department or lab computer?

No, ArcGIS for TAMU-owned computers should be purchased at the Software Center.
